Detailed Itinerary

Our experienced tour guide and driver will be greeting you at 8.00am (7.30am) at your hotel’s lobby then drive out of the hassle Siem Reap city toward Beng Mealea temple which was built in 12th century during Angkor Wat time, locates about 65km. The journey provides nice views of rice paddies, countryside dotting with palm trees and we stop to observe how traditional bamboo sticky rice is made, and try some bites of its delicious taste. We stroll around Dom Dek market to witness daily life of people selling their vegetables, meat and exchange the trades before heading to have the guided walking orientation within the wilderness to unlock the hidden jungle temple whose the ruined rocks spread around, enhanced by the vegetation and the tranquility. Walk, crawl, climb and squeeze into/over galleries to see its amazing setting, reveal the history, take picturesque photos and feel the natural surroundings.

Afternoon, continue to explore UNESCO world heritage “Koh Ker Temple” – an archaeological site of Pre-Angkorian monument, the very less touristy temple that Koh Ker has attracted more and more tourists to discover its ruins among the wilderness. Koh Ker temple was probably served as state temple of Khmer King Jayavarman IV, vertically arises in Pyramid shape with 7 tiers enhanced by impressive shrines. Learn from your tour guide about the significant city of Khmer Empire and take some picturesque photos. Return to your hotel and end of service.

    How much is Angkor ticket, how does one get it and how is it used?

    The Angkor ticket can be purchased at the toll booth en route to Angkor Archaeological Park. There is always queue, payment is made in cash and they will take photo for you. Once you get the pass, make sure you keep it with you safely (or use name tag) because you have to show your pass to authority guards at the entrance of each temple. Buying Angkor ticket online is also available and convenient, you should prepare a photo ready to upload when you’re processing your ticket on the official website: https://www.angkorenterprise.gov.kh/

    B). 3-day pass is USD 62 (Valid within 10 days)
    C). 7-day pass is USD 72 (Valid within 30 days)

    Koh Ker ticket can be purchased in US dollar cash $15.00 per person at the ticket booth, just before you reach temple entrances. Our tour guide will be happy to assist you with this.

    Temple hours: The Angkor Wat complex opens at 5:00am and closes at 6:00pm. Banteay Srei closes at 5:00pm and Kbal Spean closes at 3:00pm, so plan your itinerary carefully.

    Transportation

    Due to the distance, air conditioning vehicles are the best option, cool and comfortable while Tuk Tuk is not available for this trip.

    *Dressing Code

    Strong footwear is strongly recommended for walking and climbing at Beng Mealea and Koh Ker temples, and dressing should cover your shoulders and below your knees, should bring along insect repellent, sun cream, hats and make sure your camera is fully charged a day before.
