Kayaking Mechrey Floating Village (half day)

Enjoy the fantastic kayak adventure trip in Mechrey village floating village at Tonle Sap Lake. Mechrey is known as a small less touristy floating village of all floating villages at the edges around Tonle Sap Great Lake. This half day provides great sights with fun from your single or double kayak and learn from your tour guide about daily life of local people living on the water, also come across interesting lake activities, passes floating houses and see kids coming from school, and we also visit Buddhist pagoda.

Detailed Itinerary

Our experienced tour guide and driver will be greeting you at 8.00am (Afternoon: 2.15pm) at your hotel’s lobby then heading out of the hassle Siem Reap city to Mechrey floating village of Tonle Sap Lake. The journey passes huge beautiful rice paddies dotting with palm trees and cattle in the fields before we arrive at Mechrey boat pier. Embark a sheltered boat cruising floating school toward the starting point of the kayak. We gently experience kayaking through the floating community which is admired by interesting trades on their boats and fishing activities. Continue to see Tonle Sap great lake that is inspired by the stunning views and learn from your tour guide about Tonle Sap ecosystem, witness how life works in the floating village relying on aquatic resources and you’ve got a lot of chances to take picturesque photos. We head to our regular boat back to the mainland then transfer to your hotel and end of service.

Note: Afternoon kayak adventure provides a great spot to capture beautiful sunset over Tonle Sap Lake. In the low water (February – March), mangroves are not available. Alternatively, we kayak within Tonle Sap to see the largest freshwater lake and the trip may be admired by some species of threaten waterbirds. The best time to do kayaking is from mid November to the end of January.

    Transportation

    Tuk Tuk has become very popular in Cambodia when visiting Angkor Siem Reap, especially tourists make their journey with tuk tuk to get an unique experience and have some fun when on Tuk Tuk. If you don’t feel comfortable with the tropical weather in Cambodia, air conditioning car/van/coach are the alternatives, cool and convenient.

    *Payment: The booking is not required a deposit in advance. You will be paying in full amount (US dollar cash) on the touring day when our team picks you up at your hotel’s lobby. However, we require you to respectfully take responsibility to inform us at least 48 hours prior to the tour departure if you wish to cancel the booking.

    *Dressing Code

    Cambodia geographically stays in the tropical monsoon, its weather varies and annually brings wet and dry seasons, generally hot in during day time and a bit cooler at night, and in the early morning. You should wear whatever most comfortable but remember to dress appropriately to respect the locals and other religious sites; pagodas, temples and holy places. Clothes must cover your shoulders and knees when you wish to visit the top part at Angkor Wat, Royal Palace in Phnom Penh and when you go to meet Buddhist monks.
